Summary from Goodreads:
Elyse knows what it means to keep a secret. She's been keeping secrets her whole life. Two, actually. First, that she ages five times slower than average people, so that while she looks eighteen years old, she's well over eighty. Second, that her blood has a mysterious power to heal.

For Elyse, these things don't make her special. They make life dangerous. After the death of her parents, she's been careful to keep her secret as closely guarded as possible. Now, only one other person in the world knows about her age and ability. Or so she thinks. Elyse is not the only one keeping secrets. There are others like her all over the world, descendants of the very people the Greeks considered gods. She is one of them, and they have been waiting for her for a long time.

Some are waiting for her to put an end to centuries of traditions that have oppressed their people under the guise of safeguarding them. Others are determined to keep her from doing just that. But for Elyse, the game is just beginning-and she's not entirely willing to play by their rules

by Jamie Magee

Mason Wade had fought death, and to some degree he had won. The fire of a phoenix coursing through his veins made him feel like hell. The discovery of a secret library within the Falcon Manor landed River Sabine, the very girl who first stole his heart and left him in his darkest hour, front and center in his life. Mason and the others discovering how closely his past is connected to the paranormal war at hand have only scratched the surface of how deeply entwined those who lurk at the Falcon Manor are; a painful lesson Indie is forced to learn as she fights to rise to her role as the Queen of the Veil and protect the hearts of her own. An impossible decision must be made; no matter the choice lovers will divide. The only real question is whose sacrifice will be for the greater good.

In life he haunted her...in death she haunted him. Love is eternal... Weeks away from her twenty-first birthday, the date where she would assume control over her family legacy, a night terror robs Indie of the balance she was clinging to. Like the dream she had before she lost her family, it predicts a fatal catastrophe on the horizon. The fight between life and death, good and evil, began the moment her thundering heart awoke her. Everything changed after that dream. The one thing that keeps her curse at bay is stolen, and then her enigmatic boy arrives in the flesh. Face to face with her fiery born-again lover Indie realizes that the only way she can prevent the tragedy before her is to surrender everything she was, is, and could be. Can she bend the laws of nature and fight the improbability that fire and ice could ever be one? As far as Indie is concerned, there is not a myth, spoken fate, or curse that is stronger than her stubborn desire to have it all ... including him.

About Jamie Magee

Jamie Magee has always believed that each of us have a defining gift that sets us apart from the rest of the world, she has always envied those who have known from their first breath what their gift was. Not knowing hers, she began a career in the fast paced world of business. Raising a young family, and competing to rise higher in that field would drive some to the point of insanity, but she always found a moment of escape in a passing daydream. Her imagination would take her to places she’d never been, introduce her to people she’s never known. Insight, her debuting novel, is a result of that powerful imagination. Today, she is grateful that not knowing what defined her, led her on a path of discovery that would always be a part of her.

From now through November 1st, you can buy all three books in Amazon bestselling author Eva Pohler's The Purgatorium Series for 99 cents.
PurgatoriumBoxSet (267x400)
After her sister's death, seventeen-year-old Daphne is sent to an island where an experimental psychologist uses extraordinary "suicide therapy." Her patients come to the island wanting to die; they leave fighting to live.
Dr. Gray believes that the instinct to survive overcomes the death wish when her patients are placed in situations of terror. She also believes in the cathartic power of living art, but you'll have to read the series to see what that means.
The doctor's methods cross a lot of ethical lines, and readers are left with this question: Do the ends justify the means?

“This book definitely deserves 5 stars. It now is my top favorite horror/mystery book ever”
Taffy D. Singletary (Amazon reviewer)

“This book blindsided me. When I first started reading it, my initial reaction was that it wasn’t my cup of tea. After I got past the first couple of chapters though, I was hooked. It’s one of those books that lulls you into a false sense of predicting the outcome, and then, WHAM, it completely changes course and leaves you reeling. It’s very well-written and every character makes you feel their pain and their emotions. I absolutely loved this book. Do I recommend? YES!!”
Michelle Westmorland (Amazon reviewer)

“Interesting, and edge of seat book.”

EXCERPT ONE
“Well, you need to remember everything you’ve been told about the neutral area between strongholds. The Outlands of Temple are cursed. Yes, it’s a large city and thrumming with people, but it’s also a supernatural focal point. A vortex of some sort that attracts people. Normal and supernatural alike.”

I gulped. “So it rains here all the time. Why would anyone want to stay here?”

Ephrem rubbed his face, scratching his chin.

“Look, I don’t know how much they’ve told you, but like I said, it attracts people. It attracts all sorts of unsavory people too. That’s why it’s dangerous to go traipsing around this place at night. Actually, it’s not safe at any time. No one leaves willingly, either. This place is like… I don’t know… like the strongest magnet in the world. It draws you in, latches onto you and never lets go. People are warned to never come here. Only those of superior supernatural powers are ever able to break the hold it has over them.

I stared at him in horror. “What? Are you saying I’m stuck here?”

He frowned, letting his eyes drop down to his coffee as he added sugar and cream to it. Stirring furiously, he took a moment before answering me.

“Technically, yes.”

Nautia is a troubled young girl that is having what appears to be post traumatic stress from the death of her twin Nate. Nautia tries hard to get control of her power, she is an aquator - she can control and create water! How awesome would that power be? Nautia has been in therapy, however this isn't helping her. Soon she is targeted by the Navy for a mission. In walks Riley...
Nautia and Riley are instantly drawn to one another. They are each good for the other, however for reasons all their own....they fight it. Nautia has to overcome her issues fast or people will die, and she gets some troubling news once she does.
Breaking Through was a great book! I was instantly drawn into the story and I felt like I was actually there! I do feel that the speed of the middle was a little sluggish, I was ready for some more action. Once the action started I felt that the climax and end were a tad rushed. There is a lot of development for the end to go so fast.
The story is fantastic! Original and engaging, I am hoping for a part 2! Highly suggested as your next read!

- EXCERPT -
I can’t move. My arms, my legs, they won’t budge.
It’s pitch-black, but I think I’m inside of something. Something long and smalla capsule, maybe? Stretched out above my head, my fingers touch cold metal. Whatever I’m inside of is only as long as I am. I wouldn’t have much wiggle room, even if I could move.
I don’t know how I got here or how long I’ve been tied up. I do a quick mental scan, searching for any piece of information. Nothing. I can’t even recall my own name.
What I do know is I’m running out of oxygen. Each breath comes shorter, faster, and if I can’t control it soon, I’ll pass out before I figure out what’s going on.
I close my eyes, suck in one deep breath, and let it out through puckered lips.
Calm down.
Relax.
Slow your heart rate.
What I tell myself comes from memory, though I have no clue where it came from. Whatever it is, though, it works. Somehow, my body is trained to go into hibernation mode on mental command.
Now I need to figure out how to get out of here. With my eyes still closed, I concentrate on the smell of my prison. The more I know about this box, the better my chances are of escaping. The tang of what I inhale reminds me of burnt metal and rubber. There’s another scent too, one I can’t place, even though my brain insists I know. I dig deeper, filing through blank spaces that aren’t supposed to be empty. I probably shouldn’t be spending precious energy on it, but something tells me this strange odor is important.
Bright light pours over my face, and my eyelids fly open. Above me, sunlight streams through a circular window. I don’t know how long it will last, so I quickly confirm that I am inside some sort of capsule with silver metal walls. I also confirm that I was right earlier: the tube is small, barely big enough to fit my body. The window sits exactly six inches from the tip of my nose, though I have no idea how I know that.
I see nothing above me except blue skies. I don’t hear anything outside either.
I tug at the restraints holding me in place, but they don’t give. And then I feel something, something on the outside. The capsule I’m in is moving—upward. Shit.
Calm down. Relax. Slow your heart rate, I repeat to myself.
It’s working. My body is responding—
Until I begin to free fall.
I’m not in it for long before the tube hits water. I know it’s water because of the buoyancy of the capsule. But I know because of something else too—I feel it. Surrounding me, the water gives off its own energy, almost as if it’s surrendering to me, willing me to control it. Which makes no sense.
Above me, the sunlight begins to refract as it struggles to break through the water now covering the tiny window. That’s when I realize I’m sinking. Deeper, deeper underwater.
As the light fades, the panic inside me rises. I try the calming mantra again, but nothing happens. Drops of water fall onto my forehead. The seal around my window creaks under the pressure of the water.
I’m going to drown.
I struggle against the restraints. Twisting my body. Pulling at my wrists and ankles. I yank and kick, but it’s in vain. I’m trapped.
“Fuck!” I scream.
Water sprays in from the seal, salty like the ocean, and suddenly I register where I am—in the Pacific Ocean, off the coast of South Korea. Except, I still don’t know why I’m here or how I got here.
What I do know is that this is where I’m going to die.
