Blurb/Synopsis:

When Andi Greene heads out on a cruise, she’s pumped for a fun week of sun bathing and chilling with her best friend. Little does she know her best friend has a number of surprises in store. The first is the cruise’s theme of bondage and domination. The other? Ship’s doctor Jonah Coleman, Andi’s first love, her high school boyfriend—the boy she thought she’d marry before he moved across the country and eventually dropped her cold. But there’s nothing cold about their reunion. Instead sparks fly, and Andi’s relaxing cruise seems set to turn into a week of hot loving.
Jonah can’t believe he’s getting a second chance with Andi—a grown–up Andi who might need more than he knows how to give. But he’s willing to put everything on the line to find out if the heat between them is just the remnants of teenage love or something more. And even though he has to let her go again, he’s determined this time she’ll never forget him.

Excerpt

“Andi?” The doctor, AKA my high school boyfriend, walked into the waiting area, stunned surprise on his face. “Andi, is that you?” The next thing I knew I was wrapped in a bear hug for a long minute before I came to my senses enough to reciprocate.
“Ow!”
“Oh, sorry.” He stepped back and narrowed his eyes at the blood-stained towel on my boob.
“Jonah, I can’t believe it’s you,” I murmured, staring at his chest; a torso that was wider and more muscular than I remembered. The last time I’d hugged him was the summer before our senior year, at the airport where his family was boarding a plane bound for California. Three thousand miles away from our east coast suburb. I turned to KK, who was grinning widely at us. “Did you know?”
“Know what?” She had a look of pure triumph on her face, which she flashed at me as Jonah grabbed her for a quick hug. “Know that Jonah works on this ship? Guilty.” She winked and stepped back from him. “And now I’ll leave you two to get reacquainted while I go back to the party.”
Before I could protest, she was out the door, leaving me alone with the boy my seventeen-year old self was sure I’d marry. First she’d sprung the Whipped theme on me, and now this? She was definitely going overboard later.
“You and KK, still together,” Jonah said, looking inscrutable.
“Yep.” I was having trouble with normal bodily functions, like breathing. The shock of seeing him after more than twelve years was, well, shocking. He looked the same as I remembered; tall, with uber-straight brown hair and brown eyes that were as warm as the summer sun. I gestured to the clinic. “So, you’re a doctor?”
He nodded and took my arm in his strong grip and angled me toward the back of the waiting room. “Let’s take a look at what’s going on under that towel.” We walked to the exam room and I hopped up on the high, padded exam table. “What happened?” The towel was gently pulled away and he peered down at my chest, which was flushed as pink as my lips at this point. “Andi, lose the…” He gestured to the straps of my blue dress, which luckily seemed free of any stains. Blood stains didn’t come out easily. At least that’s what I’d learned from my many watched episodes of Law and Order.

Dowie’s Place Interview for the Cruising for Love by Lynne Silver Blog Tour

Where are you from?
-I grew up in Miami, Florida, but I currently live in Washington DC.

What was your life like before becoming an author?
-Before becoming an author I was a stay at home mom.

When and why did you begin writing?
-I started a parenting blog, but every time I sat down to blog, I ended up working on a story. It was a romance, and then one day, romance writer, Hope Tarr, was speaking about how to become a romance writer at the local public library. I went to her talk and the rest is history.

Do you have a specific writing style?
-I tend to write with brevity and snarkiness.

Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
-There are always pieces of me or family in my characters and in my books.

Can you share a little of your current work with us?
-“Jonah, I can’t believe it’s you,” I murmured, staring at his chest; a torso that was wider and more muscular than I remembered. The last time I’d hugged him was the summer before our senior year, at the airport where his family was boarding a plane bound for California. Three thousand miles away from our east coast suburb. I turned to KK, who was grinning widely at us. “Did you know?”

What is your writing routine? What’s then one thing you can’t write without (besides pencil and paper ;])?
-I get my kids on the school bus and then I start to write. I write for about 3 hours a day in spurts.

Which comes first: The character's story, or the idea for the novel?
-Usually the character and their situation/setting comes first.

What is your favorite part of the book?
-I love when Andi realizes her friend KK has tricked her into coming onto a BDSM themed cruise.

*I was provided a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.

Why couldn't I have ever been tricked into a cruise like this?? I mean come on, is that so much to ask?? Maybe I wouldn't have gone but still!!
This is a super hot story and I was excited to read long with Andi and Jonah and watch as they got their second chance at love. I am a total sucker for love on the high seas!!! It was so funny to see Andi get stuck on the ship!
This is a short read, and I was only sad that there wasn't more to it!! I am hoping to read more from the author!!
Loved it!
