The Descendant Series By Kelley Grealis Revisit Tour with Double Reviews and GIVEAWAY!!!

(Book 1 in The Descendant Vampire Series)

Allison Carmichael wakes from a car wreck with no memory of the past three years. She doesn’t recall her husband’s death or how she alienated her friends, and she definitely doesn’t remember anything about her new boyfriend Vincent Drake – a charismatic man with a penchant for rare and unique possessions. In fact, the only things familiar to Allison are her seemingly common ailments – insomnia, lack of appetite, erratic body temperature – which have gone undiagnosed and are worsening.

But Vincent knows exactly who, and what, Allison is – a mortal descendant of the first vampire. He is a vampire who has watched over Allison and her ancestors since the biblical times of Cain and Abel ensuring their secret is kept. Once he realizes Allison’s symptoms are accelerating and transforming her, he’ll stop at nothing to have her.

Allison discovers that she is a descendant and the first of her kind to exhibit signs of vampirism. She must decide between risking her mortal death if she cannot control her symptoms or fully transforming into a vampire and damning her soul for eternity. A decision made even more difficult when Allison discovers that Vincent has manipulated her life, and everyone in it, so that he can have the one thing no one else in the world has – the first descendant-turned-vampire.

THE DESCENDANT – A Vampire Tale of Biblical Proportions

I knew I wasn’t dying. At least that was what the other doctors had said. But what I didn’t know, and neither did any of those other doctors, was the cause of my symptoms. In fact, those supposed specialists had all declared me to be perfectly healthy and viewed my symptoms with skepticism. But I knew they were mistaken; there was something wrong with me.

Allison talking to Matt (her husband) about the overwhelming sense she hasn’t found her destiny yet:
“Ever since I was very young, I felt that I was destined for something. It was more than a simple fascination that I would be famous or rich. It truly was…is…something inside of me, an actual burning in my belly, telling me there’s something else out there for me. But I don’t know what that something is. I don’t know how to seek it out. But this craving is there and won’t leave me alone. I think if I could just figure out my life’s calling, then maybe, just maybe, these damned ailments would go away.”

This book was a pleasure to read!

I do have to let you know up front, if you have a problem with Biblical based fiction, this may not be the book for you.
I loved the book, the beginning has a slow build that did seem to take a little longer than necessary to get through. For that reason, the start of the story was slightly difficult to relate to. However once it got going there was never a dull moment!
We find our heroine at an emotional crossroads searching for answers and fresh out of tragedy, she's suddenly thrown into a world she couldn't have possibly imagined. She seems to acclimate rather quickly, almost too quickly, and too soon we find the story has finished.  I wanted more!!
I love the different take on the history of the siblings and vampirism. It's refreshing to read something different that still stays true to the genre yet can still be entertaining.
If you like a strong female lead, coming into her own while struggling to find her place, then this is most assuredly a great read.
The Search (Book 2 in The Descendant Vampire Series)

Allison Carmichael is thirsty for blood and hungry for answers.

Lured away from her illicit extracurricular activities by news about her kidnapped husband, Allison rejoins her adopted family that’s promised to help her find him. Allison's search is detoured, however, by sinister vampire politics, the seeming good will of her fanged family, and the return of her nemesis. Circumstances unfold that shatter the foundation of her world.
In order to successfully play the game she has been thrust into, Allison must battle loss and betrayal and accept unexpected love.

THE SEARCH is on for answers, but when answers are found, will they be what Allison was looking for?

Behind me, I heard the Drakes stand up and brace themselves for the enemy who was in the park.  They were probably as anxious as I was to see who was here and probably just as restless to get their hands on him.  I continued to scan the park, brushing my hair from my eyes to get a clear view but I still couldn’t spot him
A noise diverted my attention.  It was a metal garbage can lying on its side, the wind blowing it against the metal gate corral.  I looked up in time to see a large piece of tarp that had probably covered one of the rides for the winter, sailing through the air in my direction.  I deflected it with my hands and nearly fell off of the roller coaster tracks.  And then he landed at the bottom of those same tracks.
            “Vincent,” I cursed.
A wicked smile spread across his lips, which made my blood boil.  The sheer arrogance of him showing up here, now, made me want to rip off his head.  I clenched my fists as my ears burned with anger.  But then I felt something else -- guilt for having such hostile feelings toward Vincent.  The Drakes scuttled behind me to get a better look.
“Hello, love,” Vincent said.  He looked away to say, “Hello brothers, sister,” and then returned his eyes to me.

I was given this ebook free for an honest review.
I absolutely LOVE to read Kelley's work!  It's so well written and presented!  I love the way she weaves the story!  As you are reading the words really just jump right out at you and entwine you into the lives of the characters!
The Search is the second book in the Descendants Series, and it picks up immediately after the first book leaves off.  We find Allison is searching for her husband, and learning more about Vampirism.
I really love Kelley's take on Vampirism and her twists involving the biblical background, and we see much more of both in this installment.
Don't worry, you'll see more of Vincent as well!
I would give this more than 5 stars if I could! You simply MUST read it!!
