"Beautifully Tainted" by A.M. Guillams - Spotlight with GIVEAWAY!!

Does running from the past help? Does becoming someone else even for a little while make the pain go away? Join Emily and Matt in their journey to find themselves and possibly each other.
Needing to get away from everything and everyone Emily Jackson decides to let fate decide where she should go. Spinning the globe and landing her finger, fate decided that Maine was where she would end up.
Three years later, Emily has become the new her. She keeps everyone at a distance for her own personal reasons. No one knows the real her. No one knows the pain she holds inside. She’s created a mask and walls that were necessary for her survival. It’s all a front though. She just can’t confront those demons. It’s too hard. She has made a vow to herself to never let another living being in. The pain isn’t worth the connection and bonds that would be formed. Until the new detective arrives.
Matt Anderson needs a change. The tragic events of that day haunt him constantly and he can’t take it anymore. He decides running away is the only way to get away from the constant reminders that consume him. He decides the further the way the better and spins the globe. Maine it is then. A new place, new faces, and a new job are exactly what he needs right now.
The moment their eyes meet, both Emily and Matt feel the instant connection, but they both decide that they need to ignore it to protect their sanity and hearts. They avoid each other at all costs. But Fate has other plans. Fate brings them together on a night that could’ve had a bad ending.
Can Emily and Matt let go just a little to see where things could lead as more than friends? Can they let go of their demons long enough to realize that what they need most could be each other? Or will they continue to live beautifully tainted?

I was born and raised in a small town in Southern Virginia. Even though I moved to the city in my early twenties I am still a country girl at heart. I love being outdoors and traveling to new places. I have been writing since I was a teenager, but started writing my first novel in 2013. I have been with my high school sweetheart for the past twelve years. I am a mother of three beautiful children, two girls and a boy. I also have three pets, a German Shepard, a Chocolate Lab, and a ferret.  I have an obsession with my kindle and love to read anything romance.
My debut novel and first in the Beautifully Series, Beautifully Tainted, released February 14, 2014. There will be a total of five books in the series. I am so excited to share all of the characters stories with everyone. The second book will be released in the Spring of 2014.

Do you write every single day?
I attempt to write every day, but sometimes life and the characters don’t permit it. I don’t set myself word count goals anymore because I tend to get frustrated if I don’t meet them. I set deadlines for chapters to be written and edited because that seems more logical for me to reach.

Tell us about your book.
My debut novel, Beautifully Tainted, is the first in the Beautifully Series, which will consist of 5 total books. The first book focuses on the characters Matt and Emily’s struggles that they have with their pasts and moving forward with their futures. They both feel the connection that they have with each other, but fight it because they don’t want to get close to another person; however Fate decides to push them twice. After finally giving into temptation, Matt and Emily are faced with telling their secrets to each other or keeping each other at arm’s length. What they both don’t know is that trouble is lurking in the background that causes both of their lives to change.

Where did your love of writing come from?
My love of writing stemmed from needing an outlet when I was younger. I used writing as a way to express myself and it grew from there. I finally decided to take the plunge and write a full length novel last year and I am so glad that I did.

What was your favorite chapter to write and why?
My favorite chapter to write was Chapter 10. It’s when Matt and Emily take a trip with their friends, Jeremiah and Sophia and they start to get closer. I loved the emotion in the chapter and how Matt and Emily express their feelings to each other by playing songs that help them understand one another.

What inspires you?
My children and my boyfriend inspire me. They are the reason for everything that I do. They keep me motivated when I want to quit and help me realize that anything is possible if you set your mind to it.
PC or Mac?
Coffee or Tea?
Definitely coffee. I have an addiction to Starbucks cold coffees.
Cat or Dog?
Dogs. I have a German Shepard and a Chocolate Lab who are very important to my family.
Chocolate or Vanilla?
Chocolate. I have an unhealthy obsession with it.
Pepsi or Coke?
Beach or Pool?
Beach. I love the sound of the ocean and the feeling of the sand.
Cookies or Cake?
Cake. Especially if it’s chocolate.
