About The Author:
Gabbie S. Duran

Gabbie is a Southern California native, who currently lives in Washington with her wonderful husband, two amazing kids and a senior citizen kitty. When she’s not writing you can find her reading or sneaking off for a run. Some might say it’s a crazy life, but she wouldn’t change anything about it.

1. Tell me a bit about yourself.
I was born and raised in Southern California. I miss it dearly.
I’m married to my husband who I went to high school with and
we have two wonderful children together. When I’m not
writing, you find me trying to catch up on my TBR list, or
sneaking off to get a run in. I love to run, it clears my mind and
helps relieve my stress.

2. When did you first consider yourself a writer?
When I received the final cover for my book. I was staring at it
on my computer screen and upon seeing my name on the front,
it hit me, I was a writer. I had written an actual book.

3. What inspired you to write your first book?
My book junkie teenager, I wanted to give her something to
read that I wrote, but my story ended up not being appropriate
enough for her. I quickly discovered YA wasn’t an easy genre
for me to write with my dirty mind.

4. What books have influenced your life most?
Dr. Suess

5. If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?
I consider Cassia Leo a huge mentor to me because she was
the reason why I started writing. I read her story of the year
she took off to write and it gave me the courage to write my
own book. She made me realize that you have to take a risk in
life, or you’ll end up regretting it if you don’t.

6. What book are you reading now?
Nothing at this moment, but I want to start up Gail’s Mchugh’s
Collide and Pulse. I’m determined to get to them.

7. What do you like to do when you’re not writing?
Catch up my TBR list.

8. Where do you get your ideas for your books?
Music… All my stories have a theme song behind them, a song
that inspired me to write that story. I actually have to start the
song in order to get into the zone for that story.

9. What new author has grasped your interest?
Chelsea Camaron. Her books are real and raw. There is no
sugar coating in her series, but I love it. They’re books I get drawn into because they’re based on situations that happen to
real women.

10. If you couldn’t be an author, what would your ideal career be?
Be a Marine Biologist.

11. What was your favourite chapter to write and why?
My favorite chapter to write is actually a deleted scene. It
made me laugh and filled my stomach with butterflies as I
wrote it. If you keep you’re eyes open though, you will see it.
The best part about it, it has cake.

12. Why do you feel you had to tell this story?
I needed to get these ideas out of my head.

13. Can you tell us about your upcoming book?
I just wrapped up another story titled ‘With You’ and I’m
jumping straight into the sequel of Unspoken Memories,
without taking too long of a break.

14. How do you market your book(s)?
Lots of teasers

15. Do you have any advice for aspiring authors?
Just write. Your story will never be told if you don’t write it.
